Choosing our first burger for burger week took a lot of effort but at the end of the day I do t think we could’ve done better than the Hasslehoff’s Revenge offered at the cost Portland Bar Home. Which aside from having a fine burger also has the added bonus that if you tell your friends you are going straight home after work you can hide your drinking without having to lie 😆
Now to get to the point. How does the Hasselhoff hold up? We all seem to agree that the burger itself tastes quite delicious, but with just one small fault….
To start with let’s describe the burger.
The reason this came to the top of our taste test list was the unique patty they used here. Instead of beef as most places use they did something special. A pair of hand crafted Bratwurst sausage patties which gave this burger the feel of biting into a juicy summer bbq sausage dog. That topped with the just right amount of pickles and pickled onions, topped with a lightly spicy creamy cole slaw and the drizzled with a hearty beer cheese wrapped up in a pretzel bun. Every part of this burger is working together in perfect harmony and makes you crave more.
That being said our only problem with this burger. It’s small!!!! More a slider than a full burger
Not that being small is a dealbreaker here. With Portland Burger Week deals being only a tiny $5 per burger you may be able to over look its size. But if you think one of these burgers alone will fill you up then you may be disappointed.
That being said for $3 more we were able to get a side of waffle fries with our burger bite, and like always fries always make a burger feel complete.
Not to mention they currently are selling slushee iced drinks so We had a fruit punch and vodka slush to finish off our meal, and with the 90 degree weather we’ve had this week I don’t have to tell you how refreshing that can be.
All in all Home a Bar was everything We wanted in a burger week beginning. The bar itself was very clean and the staff was quick to help. The burgers only taking minutes to come from the grill to our table. Although next time we will make it a double order.
We give the Hasselhoffs Revenge four 🍔🍔🍔🍔 out of five!
