It’s been a minute since our last post. With the recent heat wave it’s been hard to enjoy outdoor patio eating and food carts as much as we like. Still that wasn’t gonna stop us for long so this week we decided to revisit one of the go to foodie locals of Portland. Pine Street biscuits! This breakfast spot is so popular with locals that any day of the week you’ll see a line reaching out the door of people waiting to get in and take that first buttery biscuity bite of breakfast goodness.

Now you might be thinking that fries don’t go with breakfast. Well you’re wrong especially these fries, smothered in a fresh made sausage gravy and topped with melted gooey cheese. It is definitely worth the byeNo you might be thinking that fries don’t go with breakfast. Well you’re wrong especially these Fries, smothered in a fresh made sausage gravy and topped with melted gooey cheese($8 for a Large). It is definitely worth it and pairs really well with Cajun seasoning. Some of the best loaded fries we have had in a while.

But while fries are good, the main reason people come to Pine State is the crispy chicken biscuit sandwich! With a variety of choices available it’s hard to choose between the original Reggie ($10 fried chicken covered with cheese, bacon and gravy) or maybe go for the Brisket Biscuit ($11 with Smoked Brisket and Carolina BBQ)

We finally decided we were craving the Chatfield ($10) with a beautifully tender piece of Crispy Chicken nestled on this fresh baked Biscuit topped with bacon, cheese and Apple Butter giving it just a hint of sweetness to blend the buttery bread and savory chicken into one beautiful bite.

Of course no meal is complete without dessert and this is where they really try and show off their baking skills. With a variety of pastries to choose from we went with a plate of Biscuit Beignets ($4) coming in both traditional powdered and cinnamon sugar versions.

Then of course we had to get one of their seasonal Poptarts ($4) and this month they were featuring a Blueberry Basil filling in this fresh baked creation.

Pine State Biscuits is a fun place to come by and enjoy a good breakfast with a pitcher of mimosas. Definitely a spot to take visiting family or meet up with friends. We won’t say it’s the number one tastiest breakfast in the world, but it is definitely a memorable meal and something worth waiting in line for.
