All good things must come to an end and with that said Portland nacho week is wrapping up for the year.
We will miss this beautiful week of cheap $5 cheesy goodness but will never forget the fun we had sampling it. That is until the next Portland Dumpling week.
That being said we couldn’t sample nearly as many nachos as we would’ve liked this year but here are our top picks for the nachos this year.
If you are going for a glamorous and more gourmet nacho experience then these Sushi Nachos are for you. Sitting in a posh high end restaurant you will feel fancy for $5 with Fried Wonton Chips served with Spicy Ahi Tuna, Avocado, eel sauce and a spicy mayo
All of these flavor really some together to make an unique nacho experience and served with a happy hour cocktail it is a good time. That being said these are a bit of the light side. Between a lighter amount of sushi and the airy wonton chips you will probably be hungry after this dish but flavor wise you will be golden.

Now if you want something to really satisfying although straining what technically can be called a nacho you should check out the Tilt Tachos! These come with Tilts Signature House Made cheesy filled Tots covered with a nacho cheese sauce, sour cream and salsa
Now that description may sound simple. And it is. Honestly the cheese sauce and salsa are fairy generic and the sour cream is well. Sour cream. Nothing too fancy going on here. But like always Tilt has put a lot of love into making their tater tots. Bigger than golf balls and filled with enough cheese to tease the pallet and fried perfectly the tots are the best part of this dish. Which forgive a lot of the other ingredients falling short.

Now these Nachos did not make this list for their originality or obscure ingredients. Although it was clever to make a Cuban Sandwich inspired nacho with Mustard Braised Pulled Pork, Pickled pepper, Swiss Beer cheese Sauce, Mustard sauce and a pickle.
The end of the day though what is most satisfying about these nachos is how despite their interesting ingredients it remains a quintessential simple nacho plate. Served on a unassuming paper tray with either a beer or a margarita. It’s what people want when the nacho craving hits them. Its late night cravings satisfied. It’s beauty in simplicity.
